William Shakespeare wrote in Much Ado About Nothing, "For there was never yet philosopher that could endure the toothache patiently."

We all dread going to the dentist but, there is no questioning the demand for the service. When qualified, you, with your knowledge of dental anatomy and your physical dexterity, could do much to soften the experience.

Your Dental course will prepare you for this. You will study general pathology, dental hygiene, radiology, preventive dentistry, head and neck anatomy, pharmacology, practical dentistry, and periodontics. You will be taught how to carry out oral examinations and operations and administer drugs such as painkillers and anaesthetics. There will also be training in administration, health law and ethics, plus instruction in pro-actively educating the public to use better dental practices.

At the successful conclusion of the course, you could choose from the following career options, among others:

  • Private Practice Dentist
  • Hospital Dental Surgeon
  • Dental Hygienist
  • Dental Pathologist
  • Community Dental Health Officer
