Aristotle said, "The aim of the wise is not to secure pleasure, but to avoid pain."

As a Physical Therapist, your mantra will be to do all you can to minimize the pain being felt by your patients. If you really enjoy working with people, have a good knowledge of biology and anatomy and are physically fit yourself, a Physical Therapy course could well be the right choice for you.

You will learn about the major conditions such as arthritis, back pain, cerebral palsy, bone breaks, fractures and head injuries, and how to improve the prospects of your patients through carefully applied exercises. You will learn how to alleviate pain and reduce trauma, improve mobility and endurance, and generally promote well-being. The course will teach you about ultrasound, massage, hot and cold compresses, TENS machines, and the use of disability aids such as wheelchairs, crutches and prostheses.

On successful completion of your Physical Therapy course, you could consider a career as a:

  • Physical Therapist
  • Sports Therapist
  • Masseuse
  • Health Educator
  • Post Trauma Therapist
